First Steps to Kayak Fishing – Fly Casting Clinic

Shank’s Mare welcomes our expert Susquehanna River Fishing Guide, Brian Shumaker, to conduct this introductory fly casting clinic.  Brian’s business, Susquehanna River Guides, specializes in fly fishing for small mouth bass on the Susquehanna.  This clinic at Shank’s Mare is designed for the person just starting out in the sport of fly fishing.   It will cover the fundamental skills in fly casting and fly line control.  The clinic will be held outside Shank’s Mare, on the banks of the Susquehanna.  All equipment is provided in the clinic fee.  The class will be small, so sign up now!

Fly Fishing for Smallmouth Bass School     June 26 and Aug 7th 2010, 8am – 4pm
 
Will be held on the banks of the Susquehanna and Juniata Rivers. Equipment will be provided for those that need it. The school will teach casting, reading the water, how to present the fly, leaders, what makes a good bass fly, our choices on bass flies,and many other tips and techniques to make you a better smallmouth angler. We will also teach you how to fish sinking lines, how to do the hop with afloating line and much more.
Todd Spacht of Spacht’s Custom Flies will be joing me in teaching these schools. Max class size will be 10 students per class, so sign up now.
